I am suggesting that it be re-integrated into the main IB forum.
I realise that a lot of people bitched to have it separated in the first place, but how much good can it be said to have done? The result I see:
- IB isn't as busy. Especially after recent events - it has lost some of the most active denizens - is this a good thing?
-- bad threads stay on the first page for longer and garner more attention - huge amounts of busy threads acted as a sort of quality control, imo
-- there's a split between the two crowds, chat & games being populated by 'spammers' and 'newfags' - surely IB is pretty much the same now but with less activity
- I know I never visit the Chat forum, but I did occasionally post in chat & game threads when they were all in the one place. Links in with the rift idea.
- The best, most attractive and most unifying content, special games like the Waifu game and Garfest, is again split up and floundering among essentially unrelated crap. You now have to have one dedicated chat topic and IB itself shares none of the fun. Site problems (esp. lack of sigs) have fucked these as well.
- For all the 'bad posters', there are actually a lot of decent users that practically live here. We notice the bad posts in IB more because less people are posting - this could to an extent be remedied, and the integration might make some of them post in regular IB topics. This influx of new users could also add more opinions and feedback that stuff like video threads doesn't currently receive.
I've purposefully avoided making a poll because I could see people rage voting before they'd read the post. Ok, a lot of people won't read it anyway, but I'd like to hear your thoughts regardless.
