Since people asking about the option which must never be named is a fairly frequent occurrence, could
@Jacob or any other staff member perhaps shed a little more light on the subject please? Specifically, I'm hoping you could tell us:
- Will you add official instructions to the site (like the FAQ) about how to request access to this option?
- If not, could you please elaborate on the process? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'll be willing to help unofficially point people in the right direction, but there's some confusion about whether forum activity is needed in addition to a support ticket, and whether the long waiting times and lack of response from support is due to you being busy or some hidden requirement/clearing period for access to this feature. As is, we don't even know if people can expect a response when they gain or are denied access.
- If delays are due to support being busy, is there any chance you could automate the process somewhat?
- Since topics and posts mentioning the feature explicitly tend to go missing, how much/little are we allowed to tell people asking for help? It feels like a bit of a grey area.
Hope I'm not stepping on any mines asking here. I'm just an old-time lurker who likes to be helpful, and hope for people to enjoy the site like I do rather than end up frustrated with the secret and opaque process surrounding select content.
