Fakku's becoming a really great resource for people without the patience to fight /h/ for every rapidshare link or the time to keep up with bloodfer, but there's just one thing missing that could make site organization and searching much easier, especially as the site grows.
It's artist/circle information. Right now, at least as I've found it, Fakku works mainly by series, and that's well and good, but a lot of people like to collect by artist. Like Giri giri sisters is by Gunma Kisaragi and that "School Uniform" Bleach doujinshi series is by ORANGE SOFT, and so on.
I suggest that artist/circle/developer info be posted in the "blurb" for the different manga (maybe even some the images/games/videos).
It'll help immensely when folks are trying to find just the one missing piece of their series, and it'll add an easy way to organize the different manga, especially when the title is in question, or has been translated for its upload to the site.
Because there are so many ways to read the title of a manga or doujinshi (translate it, transliterate it, describe it etc), it's easy to miss something you're looking for simply because it was labeled differently. But it's a rare day when someone can't identify a manga by the artist or circle's personal style.
Adding circle or artist info also helps people organize their own collections, and can increase contributions as folks look through their folders and find out that they've a lot of stuff by this guy or that guy and decide to send it in or torrent it and such. Artist info also encourages contributions of series that aren't yet given sections on the site, which boosts diversity and makes the site more useful to everyone looking for new IP to fap to.
New artist info can also come in, connecting works you might not think related, even by artistic style. For example, the Bleach doujinshi Yasai Matsuri and Yoruichi Matsuri, both available on Fakku, don't look similar, but are actually by Eringi Yukiguni, an artist of "Variable?" and reflect his changing style. His circle also created the "Oneepaizuri" Oneechambara doujinshi and the "Call me Vega" Gear Fighter Dendoh doujinshi, much requested on /h/ (though not yet uploaded to Fakku). I only found that out after downloading it via Fakku 10 minutes ago).
It's info like that that makes collecting and contributing both fun and fantastic.
This is a great suggestion
unangbangkay and it is something that I plan on doing very soon. The only thing holding me back is the amount of time it would take to figure out the circle for each doujinshi. Some are a lot easier than others as you have made clear, but it will be difficult with all the other things that I am in the middle of.
However I want this to happen just as much as you do :D so starting Monday I want to get started on this project. Without a doubt it will create a fun way for everyone to interact. In fact
I would like your and everyone else's help with this. I will create an "Artist / Circle Information" forum in the
Hentai Manga and Doujinshi section of the forums once I finish this post.
I would like you guys to start creating threads on there for each circle/artist (ex. Orange Soft) and list all of the doujinshi they have created both available on and off FAKKU. This way it will be easier for me to add all the information, and it will be a great way for people to find out what each circle/artist has created.
This is going to be awesome 8)
