You get import fees? At Mandarake, i never got any customs fees, since they always declare less than the exact amount ;)

It ain't that cheap and easy to ship a piece of chinese cartoon from japan to the US.
Just the idea of having the package shipped across the pacific the most economical way will include of not less than a month of sailors safely crossing the pacific with their ship cruising at 13 knots (13 nautical miles per hour)(Via Great circle sailing, which is the shortest distance, provided that there will be no weather disturbances) and other middleman fees.
Sending it via air will cost you more.

Everything on the FAKKU store right now is completely unrelated to FAKKU Books, they are all just items imported from Japan. You're comparing the FAKKU store to a Japanese website which is not a good comparison. There are obviously a lot of costs associated with bringing those items over to the United States that aren't obvious (we have to fly to Japan for one). The majority of the doujins on the store were purchased 2 years ago when the exchange rate was a lot worse. We also bag and board everything, cover the costs of shipping and handling, and the costs associated with bringing them back and going through customs. On top of all that we need to make a profit so it's worth doing in the first place (around 10 - 15%), there is a lot involved in that price point.
