Considering you were using that page as your primary way of navigating to the magazine chapters, I'll get another row added showing the latest magazine chapters we have released. We'll also add a dedicated page showing only magazine chapters (probably /magazines/chapters).
That sounds like an excellent solution, thanks!
That said, the /magazines page isn't a good way to stay up to date on subscription content. We've been releasing subscription content that wasn't published in a magazine, like I Am a Succubus?, Locking Horns, and the various chapters from gy. We'll be making some new doujinshi announcements soon and that content will be available to subscribers, but was never published in a magazine. So if you use that page as your primary way of staying up to date on subscription content, you would miss it!
Ooh, you're right, I did miss those. Is there just a way to ask for a list of "everything my subscription makes available"? Because I don't think it makes sense to require me to check 4-5 categories for new content every day.
Looking ahead to the future when we add more magazines from other publishers, it will become necessary to different them further. That's why we'll be dividing the page by magazine title rather than just lumping them all together (plus I think it looks nicer divided out).
Looks nicer perhaps, but it also requires busywork from users who just want to fap.
I do hope fakku one day moves to a unified search/tag engine like g.e-hentai, where there is no differentiation between chapters beyond tags. This would let any user 'create their own view' by typing a search string, and less advanced users can select prewritten search strings from the navigation at the top.
Fakku isn't far away from this model already, the main thing that is needed is the magazine/book/doujinshi tags being added to the relevant chapters. Once that was done, you wouldn't have to spend any web dev time on me at all!
While keeping the new magazine lander, what do you think we can do to improve finding content?
Mmm, I don't think I'm in the target audience for that lander. I personally don't give a toss about which magazine each chapter is in, I just look at the thumbnail to find chapters I might like. A unified subscription content list would do me fine. Obviously I can't speak for anyone else.
And thanks for the thoughtful reply. Not many people listen to their customers as attentively as you.
EDIT: Ooh, I found /magazines/chapters. Just going up now, I think, still 404ing!
That was quick!
