Mega Upload alternatives

So now that we've lost access to the luxuries of MegaUpload, let's take a little look at what we've got as alternatives. This is my first suggestion to Fakku forum, so if I'm not allowed to post a thread here or seem to be arrogant, sorry for that, little right now.

So anyways, without further ado, I propose we take a look at file sharing methods such as:

1) MUTE. Now, MUTE file sharing is slow, horribly so, but there is guarantee of remaining anonymous. I wish I could say that I'm experienced with it, but sadly I am not. I just heard some good stuff about it.

2) Torrents. I personally don't think this is a very good alternative as ultimately you'll end up with more than you bargain, mainly lots of leechers and higher chances for lots of public attention. That's just my opinion. It IS a possibility for those determined enough though.

3) WUPLoad. If I recall correctly it has a rather mediocre to bad download speed, but it does have a nice file limit. Won't replace MegaUpload, nor do I expect it to, but definitely something you can look into if you want.

4) Dropbox or something similar. Cheesy, risky and definitely going into the cliche box (no pun intended), but again, a possibility for those determined enough.

Also heard some good stuff about file sharing services like Minus, but I don't know enough about that to give an opinion. Now, this isn't a request, but just a suggestion that you can all ponder about and of course refuse when you deem it to be to... bad?

What REALLY surprises me is that you haven't mentioned Mediafire. I have always considered Mediafire a (sometimes even better) alternative to MU.

Funny that you happen to mention it. I find it, out of personal experience, a bit limited with that 200 MB limit it has for the files you can upload. Considering some stuff that gets uploaded can be more than 4 GB, it'd be quite tedious to have to split things into 20+ parts. Yes, I know patience is a virtue, and if people really want something, they should be patient, but I chose to look for alternatives that allowed bigger files.

i only say ZOMGupload, it is pretty much like megaupload in terms of speed and dl limit, which is 3 GB then wait 3 days if i recall correctly, however this can easily be avoided be reseting your router to get a new IP.

any way most other upload sites can´t keep up with the speed megaupload provided and even have those fucked up captchar bullshit.

however somethings that other sides don´t have is the hashcoding of uploaded files, which enabled you to upload the same file instantly because it was still on the megauplaod server.

but like said zomgupload ist pretty ok

As of a few hours ago, the US Department of Justice and the FBI shut down the filesharing site, Megaupload. Accused of making money off piracy, several high-ranking members have been arrested and a few celebrities have had charges filled against them.

In retaliation, 15 minutes later after the news broke, Anonymous rallied it’s hackers and took down US government websites, including the DOJ homepage. They responded through social media, saying that is just a taste of what is too come if SOPA passes.

So where does that leave us? Well, with the Megaupload site down and it’s servers in the hands of the DOJ and FBI, we can’t really do anything. We’ll see what happens in the next few hours and see if anything changes. But until then:

All Megaupload Links WILL will not work. No exceptions.

Sites like Fileserve and Filesonic remain unaffected

Except some of the other site remove their payment plans for the links. Fileserve, sonic, hotfile, ect ect are owned by the same people.. no money.. no servers/translator costs/seed host for torrents or that coffee they need to do it for free. Torrents are way better but unless you get them in the first couple of days.. seeds grow out and there more leechs then seeds. Batabt is a better choice. Plus there other places.

FYI all share sites no mf or rs are banned unless your a uploader.. their special because they add to the library for free.

Orrrrrrrrr just download from the respective translator's sites/blogs. Most of them have their own download source available.
