FAKKU Reader Help, Feedback and Bug Report Thread

Sorry Daiz, seems I have to correct my earlier posts: It is NOT only the premium reader that lags and crashes. If I just keep scrolling down the Fakku main page, the browser will soon start lagging as well, until it crashes at some point. Recently I've also been getting "Oh no! We got an error displaying the website. Either refresh or try another website" and "Oh crap! We couldn't load webgl properly" messages on the Fakku main page. So it might not be the premium reader's fault after all. Btw, all of the above information is in regards to mobile usage.

I apologize again for the incorrect info. Could you pass this on to Jacob / the other developers please?

This is a content issue more than anything and not particularly a reader issue but even though the entire book is out and we can access all chapters with links outside of the reader, the last two chapters of The Job of a Service Member are still locked within the reader (you can even flip pages to the locked chapter)

I'm using my MacBook Pro on Fakku for the first time in awhile (usually use Windows). The reader runs really hot in Firefox, causing the laptop fans to turn on full blast starting from about 60 seconds of viewing. (I happened to be reading https://www.fakku.net/manga/elven-bride-ch-6-english when I noticed.) It also causes the battery to drain pretty fast.

OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

Firefox 41.0.1

I closed all other tabs, to isolate the issue to Fakku.

I just tested it again, going to page 1 of the chapter, hands off the trackpad, not touching the computer at all. As I sat there waiting, the fans started spinning until they got pretty loud again.

im a long time reader and fapper of the Fakku verse and just recently became a subscriber . i dont know if this is where im supposed to right this but ever since i subscribed i can only read the manga for about 10 minutes and then my computer keeps freezing.. this is very annoying as you might guess . as i said before i subscribed today and im starting to think it was a huge waste of almost $13 because i cant read the manga without my pc freezing. so any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Can you see how things work in Safari and Chrome? Just for comparison.



It's hard to help without details. What's your operating system? What browser are you using? Is your browser up to date? What kind of computer do you have (CPU, RAM)? Does it happen with other browsers too?

Unless I am missing it, there seems to be no quick and easy way to view only subscription content. You can check the Fakku publisher tag but this still includes books.

It seems to be an even bigger run around when on mobile (my tablet) as I have to select a dojinshi and go into before I can even view the tags to just click one, or search for a tag or scroll the bottom and click desktop views.

Are there plans to add a subscription section to the top navigation bar? Would make life much easier.

That really hasn't anything to do with the reader, but just so you know, a link to the subscription chapters has been added to the My Account menu. ;)

im running windows 10 pro 64-bit browser is google and is up to date. its a custom built gaming pc.
i have 32GB ram and processor is amd phenom II x4 965 processor (4 CPUs),~3.4GHz
and the freezing has only happened on FAKKU right after i pubscribed. as much as i lovw FAKKU im thinking it was a waste of my money . if i knew this was gonna happen i would have just saved the cash.... and also how do i cancel my subcription

That's really odd, it certainly shouldn't be a matter of performance then... Anyway, can you try it with other browsers too, eg. Firefox?

As for canceling your subscription, you can do that via My Account > Settings > Subscription Settings > Cancel Subscription. This will cancel the renewal of the subscription next month, and you remain as a subscriber until then.

It seems the problem wasn't Fakku.

I tested on Chrome and couldn't get the problem to happen. Safari refuses to load subscription chapters in a Private window, so I didn't investigate any further.

Then I tested again on Firefox with extensions disabled, and the CPU problem didn't happen. Reenabled extensions and the problem came back.

Just now I noticed one of my extensions (Tree Style Tab) had a new update available, and updated. Now I'm not seeing the problem anymore. Apparently it was some kind of a bug in the extension, not Fakku. Sorry for wasting your time.

No problem, great to hear that the problem sorted itself out.

As a general recommendation to anyone having issues in this thread: If you use browser extensions, try disabling them and see if your issues persist - if not, then try enabling things one at a time to figure out which one is causing the issue.

All right weird request time. My laptop has a high resolution display so I'd like to try reading manga with the screen rotated. Buuuut unfortunately this display doesn't seem to support that feature. I could probably dig up some kind of hack to solve this problem but I thought maybe it would be better? to support this in the reader instead, that way the user wouldn't have to switch out of different orientations every time they wanted to read manga like that. Anywho, not really important but it would be cool to have the option.

Are you using Windows 7 or higher? If yes, have you tried pressing Ctrl+Alt+[Left/Right/Up/Down]? I'm pretty sure you should be able to force a screen orientation change with that.

Rotation for attached displays seems to have been removed.

Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but page 7 of Penis Divination refuses to load for me, tried both yesterday and today. Can manually skip to 8 and read the rest, it's just that one page that seems to be missing.

I just subscribed and it seems the browser says No manga for me "Failed to load book. Try logging out and back in again if the error persists."

-> Refreshed browser
-> Restarted browser
-> Relogged many times

I could read one subscribed chapter at the beginning but now I cant read them anymore.

EDIT: After I posted it started working again for no apparent reason lol

Sorry about that, we were working on some things and the reader had issues for a few minutes.

And same problem now with The Back Side is Important, Too! page 18. No matter what I do, these two don't load for me despite everything else working.
