Recommended Topics To Sticky

I thought you could use some user input on what are the topics in various sections that the users feel deserve to be stickied. I'll start:

I'd thought about making a music master list a while back; I didn't realise there had been one already. I'll set about updating it Done. If someone could clear the first post afterwards (he hasn't visited in years) and maybe fix up the title, that'd be great. That way the original topic owner is preserved as a testament to their efforts, and the 'unsticky' bug is prevented.

Good idea, by the way. I agree with all of these.

For the sake of my ego I would say yes, but I have already messaged Tegumi on this thread, and she seemed unconvinced of its stickyworthiness. I have also read a post of hers where she said she was allergic to stickies, so I doubt SD is going to have any stickies happening soon. The closest I can get is to put the link in my sig.

Ive spoken to Jacob in the past about sticky threads and for the most part he is against them. For now I think it's best we abide by his wishes.

Well, I think Waar pretty much put the lid on this discussion, but I'll throw out my two cents for what it is worth.

The masterlist threads definitely seem like they would be sticky worthy, but I'm not entirely convinced with the other threads, at least not for now. Masterlist stickies are useful to curb repeating posts, and to enforce regulations regarding such posts. The other threads, while perhaps contributing in some useful manner, just don't seem as though they would be as useful in that regard.

Then again, that's probably just my view point, and possibly a minority viewpoint at that.

well, the discussion is still open as you said, I don't want to dissuade anyone, I just wanted to offer what little I know about the subject and our glorious leader's wishes. By all means continue to debate this, I just want everyone to understand it probably wont happen for most (if any) of those threads.

I can kind of see why the first four might not warrant stickies, being points of reference more than vital resources (that's not to say they aren't useful, just that they aren't something everyone will want or need to read), but I'm of the personal opinion that stickies make forums look more...'lived in'. One or two at the top of a page makes it look to me like there's a significant/passionate presence within that forum.

You guy's should also add so stickies to the "Feedback, Suggestions, and Support" forum's. why? because everyday people make account's only to ask "I CAN'T SEE FAKKU ON PS3" when there are already about a dozen of these and i alway's respond the same way "check ur connection,update ur system and keep a clean connection"Please give some trouble shooting tip's for the fakku guest's so the same question's dont pop up everyday,thanks.

there would be too many sticky's here if we did that. Even if we combined everything users already dont read the first page of topics so what makes you think they would read an updated faq sticky?

Fakku.Net Story Recommendation Thread

Although this thread didn't have much activity, I think stickying it may give rise to more activity, but that's just my hunch though.

Most people seem to read stories based on what authors of Fakku they like rather than trusting to pick random stories. Besides, having one person deciding who makes that list? There has to be more people than that to make a less biased decision on which stories should be feature and which ones do not make the cut.

From what I've seen there Tsurayu it's a free topic, and everyone can recommend stories. I think it's a great idea, and should be stickied asap.

+1 for the Music masterlist, it's silly not to have that thread at least sticky'd

Ah yeah, nevermind. I thought it was like a recommendation thread for the OP to use in the first post.

Agreed. It would really help to avoid multiple threads on certain artists, bands, or genres.
