[Locked] Role of Moderators on Fakku

I meant in respect to the group of people that were against the user. Out of the group, there was one who stood out the most - now if you are implying that I meant that Waar was the bad guy and Girl'sfoundation was just a helpless youngling that was attacked without provocation, you are mistaken.

then why post in this thread, it's about the role of moderators on fakku; what the shit does your opinion of recent events and our characters have to do with the topic. It's alright to cite recent events to make a point, but to tell us you are mad at us seems pointless and inflammatory.

In all fairness to the mods (I can't believe I'm saying this), I believe they were in the right this time. They did mock his awful thread, but for good reason... IT WAS AWFUL. And when he started spewing insults and vulgarities (love that word) they pretty much shut him down.

Tegumi and Waar were being their typical selves, and the new guy took great offense to that and went overboard. If he couldn't handle one day of them, then he simply wasn't suited for Fakku.

But you could lay off a little bit, you are supposed to be moderating this kind of behavior, after all.

I'm pretty sure moderating stupid shit like flame wars and spamming is a part of being a moderator. I know you don't need to hear this from me of all people, but laying off a bit could have done wonders for this whole ordeal.

So, is Girlfountain's original thread deleted?

yep, thanks for any support. I know the community as a whole thinks my actions were somewhat too harsh, I just think that it would be better if i was too harsh and warded people like that off rather then let it fly and have a user like that become a permanent member of the community. I was also doing it because i like making some people angry.

You keep citing Jacob's directive, but do you personally think that IB could do with more rigorous moderation? This seems more the issue here than personalities.

In all honesty, me and Jacob clash more than any other two moderators do about rules and how we should act on the site. I tell him when he's being too soft, he tells me when I dont understand his level of accepted moderation. In the end he is my boss and is always right but I do let him know when I think he's being an idiot. I'm also probably one of the few mods who keeps in regular contact with the man, most of the others dont use IRC that often and he doesn't have many orders to give us. Regardless of how I would run IB/Random, I know he is in charge and so I dont get to do everything I want.

On moderation of IB, I do think we need rules that are set in stone, I do think they should be regarded as black and white, I do think (like girlfountain said) they need to be properly displayed in every section. I have made all of these points in the past but I was told it doesn't follow what Jacob wants for this site. I am fine with that, but sometimes wish things were different.
