Will there ever be new shipment methods/prices?

Kind of a weird question, but I wasn't sure of how to phrase it. The difference in shipment speeds and costs seems a bit.. wildly varied however and I was wondering if this is just the way it would always be? For 2 books the shipment is always either 4$ for 20 year shipping to New York, or it jumps straight to 18$ for 2-3 days. For 2 books this jump seems wildly excessive and I was just wondering if shipment costs were a thing that might be looked into? Or if I simply had to deal with the 2 year shipping to not pay astronomical costs. For large objects I could see the high price point, but are 2 books really that expensive to ship?

And a second question, if I order the 2 books that are releasing this month at normal shipping speed, will they arrive before christmas? I've bought every book release so far but this slow shipping and highcost is making me debate how I want to buy orders or maybe if it might be cheaper to wait a few months and then do a bulk order and see if shipping isn't cheaper then.

1. Remember these books aren't like normal weight. A gn of bleach is 3 times lighter because it small and newspaper print. One fakku book weights over a ib and since there no price difference for domestic shipping they label it 2 since any over a ib and 2ibs is the same rate. Media mail is cheaper since it is shipped with one big shipping from the main hub. So even if the store delivers their packages to the post office it doesn't ship that day, the mail is hold with a bunch more, usually at the regional hub. Now when they go send it out it only for me 3 days. To the east coast it will take longer. Priority mail is faster because they ship it out that day on a plane. Media is shipped in a truck for the long haul. You paid for the quickness.

2. Highly doubtful. It all depends your order on the pre-order list and when they come in. If they're two pre-orders then no. If it's one pre and one stocked then maybe. Most likey not. Unless it come out by 10-15th and your preorder is in the top list and its Priority then maybe.

They'll also randomly rip open and check packages in media mail sooo... that's not always very fun to have a package ripped into.

I'm still bitter over sending a box of books through media mail, them inspecting it, but then doing a crap job of re-wrapping the package and half the books in the box falling out and being lost.

To be fair, it's about 35 for me and 55 for express. Strangely expensive for slowpoke mail. I wonder why it is so expensive for international
