I've always loved FF8 because its story was pretty awesome and I could relate to Squall's character a lot. Thanks for the read Jacob!
After reading this I'm a believer too. I wonder if the old execs of Squaresoft who produced the game were disappointed when millions of people completely missed the point or if thats how it was intended.
True but the creators of the game intended to make it as a puzzle that players had to piece together to unlock the secrets to the meaning of the end of the game, but the thing is, I read the whole plot line from the link and some sides of the story doesn't add up, for example at the very end of the game, with the shooting star scene, Squall is still alive, but when was that scene taken? Was it before the whole event or after? Thats what baffles me the most, because it was a dream or was it a flash back.

I think the choice depends on the player, we decide if he's alive or dead O.o which is really strange of me to think of that.
*Edit*:2
I thought about it again, and in final fantasy x to x-2, tidus which was the main character in x was just a dream, a figment of something that isn't even there, and the his character came back again into reality which was confusing after a bit.
