This comment is only acceptable if you haven't played through the entirety of the VN, which I have to assume you haven't.
I'll give a bit of a brief layout, here.
The VN Fate/Stay Night follows 3 routes. In other words, you play the game 3 times, with 3 alternate endings, or possible outcomes. The 3 routes are:
1)Fate - Follows Saber as Shirou's main love interest. This is the path that the anime was based mainly on, even though the anime was a complete and utter hackjob that just threw together random parts of the VN and some stuff that came out of nowhere for no reason (IMO).
2)UBW(Unlimited Blade Works) - This is the story this movie is based on. It follows Tohsaka Rin as Shirou's main love interest, while Shirou spends the climax of the story battling against Archer. One of the best things about this route (aside from epic music, battles, and TOHSAKA), is the fact that Shirou himself takes a major role in combat.
3)Heaven's Feel - Follows Sakura as Shirou's main love interest. The story does get slightly dark, I guess. Nothing all that serious. The only part I really liked about this route was, again, Shirou got extremely badass.
tl;dr, UBW is epic, this movie looks to be epic, and (to the highest of my hopes), will make the sad excuse of an anime (IMO) pale in comparison.
