Expect clearer news on these two points sometime this week from FAKKU.
From last saturday to sunday and now "sometime this week" ... an another disappointment. Stop making promises when you can't hold them, Jacob.
And why has the previous thread been deleted? Is criticism unwanted or what? The entire situation is again very suspicious to me and my conclusion is that I no longer make blind pre-orders at Fakku. Patches are delayed again and again, statements are delayed again and again ... nope my patience is over after an entire month of silence and multiple delays.
The post-release support is a shame for an 60$ game.
Jacob and FAKKU in general are caught between a rock and a hard place here. The community wanted answers regarding the patch and I'm certain that Jacob wanted to supply those answers but your comment tells me you have never had to work with a developer (full disclosure; I work for a software company). You can't ask a developer "how long until x is fixed" because they can give you a very rough guess at best which means anything you tell the community is very likely to be wrong. The developer won't know how long it will take to fix until they put in that last line of code or whatever and it is suddenly fixed. Look on any gaming forum you care to mention and you will find the devs rarely ever commit to anything other than "soon" because the backlash from the community if they do give a date and miss it is always extreme. At work I automatically add 3 months to any release date I'm given and I never give a date to a customer until I have the release build in my hands (even then a build can be pulled at the last minute if QA miss something).
This is the first time FAKKU have done a game localisation before as I understand it and they are almost certainly reliant on Illusion for a lot of stuff as well so anyone asking them to be perfect first time around is really asking too much. They have much to learn about this process as they did with all of the downloads timing out right around release day. All you can ask is that they learn from their mistakes and improve like the download manager that has been mentioned and the tweaks they applied to the server(s) delivering the downloads following the timeout reports.
As for the DLC it is again a "we don't really know" as Illusion charge full price for the DLC in Japan and FAKKU don't want to do that. Any negotiation is again an open-ended thing. They could reach an agreement tomorrow or they could back-and-forth for day, weeks or even months if neither want to budge.
I get that people are frustrated but please do try seeing it from FAKKU's side :)
