Do these petitions actually ever do anything?
Few do. More the ones you sign in person to the dude making 5 cents per signature. One online one did change the mind of the governor of my state from releasing a guy who con a mental retarded kid to help him rob houses then when the cops tried to turn the handicapped kid, he lured him out and beat the shit out of him, made him dig his grave and he knocked him out and bury him alive from getting parole. But then again the gov also got a ton of mail and emails from every sheriff, police chief and DA in cali, plus a lot of letters from citizens. It was more a chain letter of facebook posts to the petition giving the info to the petition than the petition actually doing a damn.
