True but I feel that it's happening a lot more under this system. That might just be because we live under it and know it better than other times. Still, all these people hiding behind technical terms and indecision, it's pretty boring to watch.
Barely anything interesting comes up on PACOM feeds and mass media rarely brings up anything that's worth reading into.

Yes, that's been proven in the past and in a way, is happening as we speak. I dislike the thought that I'm practically blind and deaf to the events happening in African/ME region.
Most of the stories media brings about that region are usually sentimental sob stories about war orphans or casualties. Not to be uncaring or anything but I just really don't care about that part.

I think world on the whole became very averse to casualties and "hard choices".
Every soldier's death is treated like national tragedy nowadays, but the entire point of the army is to fight and die for their country. People fucking die during the war; that's not a sensational news, it's a fact.
And there's always this "can't we all get along" crap. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice thought, but it's rather impossible. And in the old days, if some civilization would threaten ours, we would just kill the fuck out of it. Greeks did it, Persians did it, Chinese did it, Romans did it. I don't see them ever being ashamed of it.

People nowadays are too unaccustomed to seeing people die so they make a big deal out when it happens but yes, you're correct, they should expect that in conflict there will be deaths on both sides not just the enemy.
Utopian societies are a pipe dream forever confined in fiction. Conflict arises because of difference and humans all are different from one another. Sadly, that naive ideal surfaces now more than ever.
By the way there is a LOT of Shimakaze hentai unsurprisingly. I don't mind since I don't play much less follow KanColle but I wouldn't mind seeing less popular ship girls like Kako or Abukuma in some. Also go easy if they are actually popular, I just assume since I don't see them a lot compared to Shima or Tenryuu.
