As I see it: there is no way to actually prove nor dis-prove the existence of a higher, and/or omnipotent, power (as it is referred). Another fault lies in the fact that we rely on documents recorded by man, thus making uncertain that these documents are the actual facts or have been fabricated by man in such a manner in which they view as following the higher being, which is drastically incorrect because being that man made those beliefs means that it may not be the actual will of this higher being leading to it not only inappropriate but also corrupt
