The reason this is a big deal is because Winamp is the mother of modern media players, whatever you switched to likely owes it homage for pioneering a good majority of its features and interface.

No, it just means some people aren't liking how you're posting, so they're giving you a bad "reputation". You can't cash it in for anything.
Also, 9gag doesn't exactly have the best reputation around the internet, considering they take things from other sites and post it on theirs with that watermark, which I guess is kinda stealing.
