It was standard but still watchable. I love how they threw Freja and her buff underling under the plot bus for a second season that may or may not happen.
I enjoyed it but i agree with you... I didnt like the last part in the fighting scene.... Though i really enjoyed the part where he was fighting with the minotaur a few episodes ago.
I like it, people who compare it to SAO are only looking at a superficial surface that is high fantasy video game-y world. It managed to strike a good balance between whimsy and conflict but it did have two faults regarding that. Him recruiting the beast girl, and at the end with the other "bad" adventurers. Those conflicts seemed out of place, and resolved too easily, the motivations kinda flimsy and there for the sake of getting Protag from point A to B.
My only other gripe is that at the end the protag is revealed to a bigger Mary Sue than we though, but it explains why some people want to see him struggle. That and it being too "harem-ish", that's expected but still crap.
I give a C-. Definitely overhyped but still had more high points than low. Should've had an extra episode, maybe ironing out who exactly the MC is as person, rather than showcasing his plucky shonen character.
