Ah, so government? I guess you guys don't get much vacation yeah, got to keep the wheels turning.

Well out place is open normal shop hours. So 9-5 on any day not a holiday. Up to the 24th is normal working days, so is the 29th-31st.

I'm just glad we got the holidays off. I just need some real good R&R these coming holidays.

What happened?

I got stuck with being on stand-by for the holidays since I'm the only one that's single in the shop and I've been called into work every day since Christmas Eve. It kinda makes the holidays suck even more knowing that people are enjoying their time off, and I'm slaving for other people's sake, both for the customers and people within my shop alike.

That's a bit discriminating. Just because you're single.

It is, but if you were the boss and everyone within the area that you work in are either married or in an relationship except for one person, would you let those people with relationships have to suffer or let the person with no one suffer. Kinda harsh reality, but hey, it's whatevs.

I'd share it out equally. e_e
So if the single person worked it one year, they wouldn't the next.
In our work place the management always takes the two Christmas weeks off but they still give the regular employees the time off thy're entitled too. So I always make sure I take a week off in-between Christmas and new year since it's a dead period and they can't object to that.
Which is why I don't understand your patterns.

Where i work the manager sorted it out so everyone who worked Christmas eve and boxing day would get new year eve and the 2nd of Jan and people who didn't work on Christmas worked on new year eve and the 2nd.

They tried to do it so people with kids got Christmas off

So how come you don't close on the holidays?

we where closed on christmas day but open on eve and boxing day and we will be shut on new years day.

I work in retail and the only days we are closed are christmas day, new year day and easter sunday
