I'd prefer to use my Akumu no Kugeki, but that's just me
Gauss is good, but with proper elemental seal tags i can get more productive results out of the technology.
Railgun ammo is bit better at production and you can buy ammo from the local hardware shop.
Industrial nails are perfect for makeshift ammo. Not as good since it is at 40-60% efficiency, but with some sealing art i can make it as good as the standard ammo.

I suppose that could be done, but the gun would probably be too big for him. And with the energy unleashed by this, it might be easier to just nuke the damn target from orbit.

It would be. If you dont strap it full of seals and use magic to power the bloody thing.
Also, compact pacakge. around the size of M107.
