1 on 1 is always better, yes, although I'm not talking much with anyone like that either. I was in the old café MSN group before it disappeared, though. Pretty much the only reason I have some people from here on my contacts list.

They are both IMclients but Tox comes in different shapes as it's open source. As in there will be multiple different Tox programs that's all connected to each other

It's not run by Mico$oft and will prioritize on security and anonymity. It will deliver far more options to suit the individual than skype.
