Shit, that's a lot coming, Taz.
Luin, I know your job is like the tides, hope it doesn't come all at once.
Am also playing on building a PC in next month or so, budget £800 to £1k
Proper mid-high tier rig.
somewhat.
Always wanted to build one, but it will mostly be used for watching anime. and maybe some odds games here and there.
Been playing final fantasy 14 for about 2 days now and i do like it.
will also run some emulators.
been thinking
intel i7 devil's canyon (4970k) if i can one, otherwise an i7 that is unlocked.
16gb ram
nvidia 1060
For your purpose i5 is all you need. I7 is more for video editors.
GPU?
Wait for more AMD Ryzen details then decide. Some prices will drop.
nvidia GTX 1060
I do know for i'm mostly gonna do, i can either go with i3 or i5 with a 970/960 and it mostly gonna be a media player.
but because i wanted build and it has been on my mind for few years now, i rather go a bit overboard. plus if do build it am probably unlikely build another as current pc is 8 years old. and i would like my build to last 10+ years
never been a fan of AMD, i have seen the some details about Ryzen CPU and they do look nice, but from what i gather intel are better at single care for performance and AND are better at multi core performance, but seeing as most games/software are not optimized for multi i don't see the point of getting AMD.
But my plan it to start building in next month or so, i will keep an open mind.
i probably will stick with an intel/nvidia set up.
