doesn't do that much for me, i can have it fully open and helps a bit, but all the bugs ignore me and having to catch them and put them out side, might put a net up so bugs can't get in but will let the breeze in.
plus if its hot outside and a bit humid that just will make things worse

I still ddoubt you'll feel any hotter with stuff powered on.if its hot outside then the heat will not cool and will get hotter till it levels out but if outside is cool then that will cool the room down.
have in the past put the fan on the windows facing out so it blows the air out from the room which does help keep the room cool

It was just a week....
funny thing though is I actually have enough vacation time to take another week off if I wanted too.
Though due to staffing issues etc I doubt they'd approve another vacation request I put in unless its several months from now...
Hmmm... there is a convention in January....
