And with this, thanks to the idiot votes. Jury only would have been Sweden, though, so I guess I'll continue with my tradition of counting only Jury votes.

I didn't end up coming home until 1am. Though they were showing it where I was.

Well, you can at least console yourself with the fact that unlike Germany you did actually get points from both the jury and the idiot votes. ;)

Clearly Iceland should have won, seeing how well they described the voting. Hate towards the UK, hate towards Germany (although, admittedly, it was a pretty bad song), and considering the surprisingly low number of points for Sweden, the usual racism as well.

Yeah good on Iceland for admitting all of that. Not that I can see it changing anything.

I guess they need to rethink letting the big 5 automatically into the final, this has been the main reason for these low scores, although Italy somehow still manages to always do well despite this.

If they did that, we'd never make the semi's XD

Probably not the first year when the anger still hasn't quite left everyone, I suspect, but it could get better again after that.

I'm beginning to wonder how long the whole contest has left to run. They build the whole thing on coming together, peace etc but it's anything but when you read between the lines and it's getting more out in the open thanks to Iceland.

It'll survive, although I still say that giving people the ability to vote was the dumbest decision they've made. Not that some juries are much better - the chorus of "Greece" in the background when Cyprus announced their predictable 12 points was rather noticeable again, and of course Greece responded just as predictably... Not that they could take it away anymore, though, that truly would give it the killing blow with the drop in the already falling popularity and income.
