I vouch for it being way too loud when you don't live alone, and the beads in those type usually get jammed. Actually, I think I burnt out the motor.
For a really nice beginner rabbit, I would suggest any of the Decadent Indulgence line. I've had the 2 and 3, I think the 2 is slimmer if you don't like it really wide, and I think the 1 is thicker and shorter. It's also relatively quiet, if you have the tv on while it's on, no one will know a thing.
