I actually found hentai not to long after I started watching porn. Saw a few clips and it went from there. Though I didn't start reading doujins/H-manga until a couple years later. Funny thing is I never really felt ashamed of it (and I still don't).

When I was in high school, there was an anime store by my house, it's not there now sadly but my friend and I would frequent it regularly. It had all the game/anime soundtrack goodness I loved and she'd get adorable fluffy things. Then we realized we could rent anime from there. We rented all the anime we saw over the course of a few years, then she saw the back-back room. I didn't even know she went back there till we brought the DVD to her house (she rented and bought anime based on how adorable the covers were, this one was Dragon Pink) and well...we learned a few things that summer as we kept renting all the hentai we could.
