Yeah, my opinion so far has been around the same.
It's seems good enough for a play through. But it lacks any replay value.
Not worth the current price tag. And because some of the pc version mechanics are slightly flawed (required to cheat to even pass the alien space ship) it really takes away from the game value.
I would say it's a good game to rent but never to own. Or game worth about 15 bucks to download.
I was wondering about the mechanics, I saw a couple of minute of the gamegrumps playthrough. The whole 'left click, right click' stuff sounded like it would've worked pretty well. Or are you talking about another mechanic? I haven't seen much of the game but I considered getting it
The mechanics in question is pretty much the sensitivity of it.
In certain parts of the game it requires you to fill a gauge by mashing certain buttons. Nothing too significant but the thing is on the PC version is that it is actually very hard to impossible to actually fill certain gauges properly.
And given that at a certain part of the game it requires you to fill a gauge that was close to impossible to fill without using a speedhack to slow down the game enough to fill the gauge.
Also, I felt like the controls during fights were either really easy to use, or unforgiving. The whole click at certain times to gain perfects was actually pretty unforgiving. During attacks it wasn't so bad because you performed essentially the same action each time so it just took a little bit to get use to the timing and you would always land it.
But during defense, you essentially had to know the timing of when the circle would appear for each attack against you or you had a very small chance of actually hitting it. And since almost every attack from an enemy champion had different timings it made for poor counter gameplay through a lot of the game. Especially since 80% of the attacks seemed to apply some sort of debuff if you DIDN'T block it.
And a lot of enemies had a lot of combo attacks that were not only very hard to block completely without memorizing each individual timing of ever enemy combo attack, but it made it impossible to even block the next one or two attacks in it if you miss the block on the first one.
And some of circles were actually inaccurate. The attack would actually come a little after them so if you started to block RIGHT before the circle appeared but was still up when it appeared your block would still miss as the attack would come in just a little bit later while others would be so fast that even if you got the block up during the circle the attack would actually come right at the beginning and skip over it anyways.
