I honestly haven't played much new stuff in a while, probably the last new game I bought was The Last of Us. Which I have to say was a hell of an experience, it's a zombie game but the experience and story telling was just amazing. Emotional roller coaster throughout most of it and very well done characters.
Environments were more varied than one would expect too...come to think of it I still need to try the multiplayer, need to see if Neo ever finished it.
Oh I have heard of it a bit.... I didn't know its a zombie game.... I know its a desperate game striving for survival, but.... Zombies....? Doesn't that makes it even more desperate....?

It's actually some kinda fungal infection, that spreads from host to host like a zombie virus would, but they then mutate the host so they end up being quite a bit different from normal stereotypical zombies. It's got some stealth elements, and some survival, mostly crafting things on the fly nothing like searching for food and things like that, maybe on a different difficulty, but I don't know.
It's at least worth looking up some gameplay to see if it looks interesting or not I'd say. But for me it was an experience, like I actually got invested in the characters, found myself feeling what they felt, and that's exceedingly rare for me.
So I would definitely recommend it if you have any interest at all.
