However, speaking of the such, the love I've seen happen is self-projection and unrealistic expectations. In example, a person loves their pet because of projected emotions such as "it understands and loves me just the way I am", however, the animal will never know you're a homicidal maniac or ate dog soup last Christmas in China, even if you told it so, it wouldn't understand it.

People run into either a new relationship with high expectations and once the bubbles pop (A isn't like B), they are left frusturated because nobody is really perfect and it is also part of our nature to see the flaws of others better than our own (for which we will always be blind to). Once you understand that, you understand that the real problem is just in your head because of your expectations.

A true love is a rare thicker-than-blood bond which empowers you to keep looking after that person even if your lust isn't present. A self-less devotion and unbreakable loyalty.
