quick question, whats the dif between naga and lamia?
i mean yeah lamia are desert and naga are water but what else is different?
Well from what Ive read a Lamia and a Naga were just two different words to name the same thing...
But then it started changing so now Naga is a creature with a snake's body and a human's face...
But they both usually still refer to a Lamia...
but from what i read lamia and naga both have theyre lower half of a snake and the upper half of a woman. its just that naga was indian and are centered around river and lakes and stuff while lamia... well actually i heard more about naga then lamia... but all i know is that they are more of dessert creatures as oppose to naga which are water, but i dont know the origin
Yeah Ive heard about that as well...
A quick search led me to this...

The short answer is that a lamia is from the Greek mythology while a naga is from the Hindu mythology.
There are deeper differences however. E.g. the Naga are often described as shapechangers while Lamia are part human, part snake.
But I preffer to call them Lamias, and yes I know Lamia is both plural and singular, but I still put the 's' at the end... Force of habit...
