But yeah, I like talking on there, as the users give anime a higher focus - of course, rather than hentai here - so they don't fawn over substandard anime. So things like this get hated on. Oh yeah, my brother also posts on there. You might recognise the name, but I won't tell you. You have to guess.

Gave you a +Rep for stating the truth, but yeah, I stayed on F! because even though you weren't here back then, F! used to be a really small and tight-knit community where everyone knew each other very well. Kinda like NHRV except everyone were genuinely friends.

In fact, F! was really different from every other community I knew. It was a place I felt truly at home. That's why this is one of the only forums where I have so many posts.

Nowadays F! is mostly filled with retards, and almost all the original members from the good old days aren't around or active anymore. I still talk with them over IM and stuff, but there's just not much reason for me to do anything on these forums as of late.

Ain't that the truth. Though there are some people who are nice and are really cool once you get to know them.

No no, I didn't generalize ALL FAKKU users today to be retards. I love everyone here at CTFG. After all, back in 2008 I would spend hours here every day. I'm sure everyone here at CTFG all know each other well and have your circles of friends who you love to be with, and that's awesome. It's just that none of people who I knew and got close to here in CTFG (it was just IB back in the days) post here anymore, and I don't have anyone I'm close to on this community now.

Essentially, back when F! was just IB, there weren't any retards because IB WAS CTFG, and our niceness represented F!'s culture, and attracted new users that way. F! culture changed when IB was split from CTFG and all the /b/-esque trolling came in. That's when most of us left.

Tell me about it. I'm only really staying for the friends I have made on here. Plus, for the time being anyway, it gives me something to do. NHRV doesn't have an active community, so you only really post on there after an episode of anime has been released.

Think of it like going to from high school to university. I'm sure you'll find some wholesome, friendly and fun people from the new users. :)

That's not going to happen. People on NHRV are too critical and only go on to rant about anime. F! back in the days of the Random Squad was all about the people. We talked about our lives. We talked about us.

The reason why F! was so great back when we were the most influential group around was because essentially, the ENTIRE FORUMS had the nature of the current CTFG (the culture here was defined by us anyway, see wiki page). Just imagine that. Anime discussions, VNs, file sharing. All that had the friendliness and inter person relationships of CTFG. That's what made F! really special and distinct from other communities. Everyone knew everyone else well.

Then CTFG was separated from IB. IB became /b/. The moderator being a /b/-tard himself doesn't help either. Random Squad leaves, A-team comes in, and F! is what it is now. Sad really.

That would make sense. I also disdain those trollers in IB, it ruins the fun of being a part of a great community like this. But you will always have those that get pleasure from making others angry...

If I may ask you or Sam, what is NHRV?

[font=verdana][color=green]Well...I'm also a member of the ISML forums, and they are quite nice as well...but they tend to cling on to anime characters a bit too much. No offence to them.

But yeah, I see what you mean. It is a bit of a shame that, when put bluntly, being a dick was applauded. Like, I've been a moderator on several forums, and the ones that are the most successful are the ones that tolerate it for a while but know where to draw the line.

Well, I'll be on NHRV a lot more in future, as this Autumn season looks spectacular, so you'll see my account on there posting as and when. See you there.

EDIT: The annoying thing is that I knew F! existed way back then as well. Such a shame I never joined. Ah well. I had Runescape Killzone forums back then.

Oh I'm sure. I lurk in CTFG and the culture hasn't really changed since we left, so I'm really happy with this. CTFG is like what remains of F!'s entire site culture back in 2008. It's a shame I don't have time to get to know everyone now.

Getting back on topic, one thing that HAS changed in CTFG is the nature of this game. Back when the Random Squad created this game, it was way more emotional and serious. You'd go through the first 100 pages of the original thread and there were only 5 marriages.

The reason for this is because back then they saw marriage as serious business. It had to be boy-girl unless both people were actually gay, and we don't have many of those people here. xD

This also shows just how close everyone was at F! back in the days. We can actually be sure of the opposite person's gender, and this is the Internet! =o

Now I REALLY wish I joined sooner. :(
