So a few weeks back, some of my friends and I were just shooting shit, "cool kids talk." So there's a girl at the place I hang out everyday. She's a freshmen and I'm sophomore. I haven't displayed an interest, because I don't want the responsiblity having a girlfriend right now, but she has crush, sexual in nature, for another boy who I'm acquaintance with, play pool with on occasion, and is a junior. The problem is for her is that she said that she's interested for the junior but the junior is hang up on another girl and the girl hasn't displayed any affection to the junior other.

So we talking about this and how the junior is clueless and too hang up on the other girl. So my friends were suggesting that I pick her up. I insisted that he was junior's girl because she's displaying an interest in the junior but they countered by saying she's fair game if the junior isn't displaying interest at all. I kinda took away the whole thing as mixed bag.

Since then, I haven't done anything and nothing has changed. So yeah, any advice (not asking because I'm looking for help, I just want to see another people's insight) or comments you guys want to add?

If you want to get laid/get a girlfriend, fucking go for it. Your friends are right, if he shows no interest in her then you are allowed to. Based on the fact that she's interested in him your probability is lowered but it's not like you're not allowed to try.

1) She's no one's girl. If you do like her/find her interesting, you should at least try. Even if she was dating someone, she's not "their" girl, and you'd have every right to talk to her.
