In ib, where anime veterans gather and you don't need to explain why clannad is bad, Yes it does equate (to a reasonable extent, of course).

My sides.
There are more than a few members of IB who don't even watch anime anymore, and the majority of people I know haven't even seen the first episode of NnA. It's not like I don't get what you're saying, the users here generally have better taste than say, CTFG, which is full of AoT and SAO fangirls and fanboys; but there are only a few users who can legitimately break some Scouters with their power levels.
Also, Space Dandy is in its own league, else I would consider it AotS.
Not a single fuck given that NnA is a 2cour show, still AotS.
In its own league? Like something more awesome than AotS? A rather convenient way to judge AotS by genre. Attack on Titans was unqiue in its way too, if you didn't notice, and they/you went and derived a nomination from its name. Maybe we should do the same for Nagi no Asakura, since maybe it's in its own league too you know.
AotS isn't a nomination from AoT, we've been using otY abbreviations for a fairly lengthy time, I've seen GotY for instance (Game of the Year) on the back of CD box releases dating back to 2004. Furthermore, AoT isn't unique in the same way Space Dandy is, Space Dandy—while being produced in Japan—is yet another stretch of the Japanese animation industry's hand at the American entertainment market. Its humour, style and mood are all clearly geared towards western consumer ideals. For me, comparing Space Dandy to the rest of the anime that aired in the winter season is like trying to compare the latest season of Futurama or The Simpsons to say, Mushihi; it just doesn't work.
Also, AoT isn't all that unique. I'll give it it's environment and weapons, but past that it's just your run of the mill ShÅnen title. Lots of combat scenes with a progressive plot pace bordering that of a sloth's movement capabilities.

Still AotS should go to KlK, if we had a legit contest that is.
KlK wasn't even that good, if we go on the fact that it's a 2cour, there's no way it's going to beat Yozakura Quartet. And if we don't? I find it hard to believe it comes close to Wake Up, Girls!, NnA, Noragami or even Log Horizon. Those shows actually made me feel
something. KlK was a ride, it was an enjoyable ride, but it's not TTGL. It's not that emotional or full of passion, the action scenes were choreographed poorly and even the MC, Ryuko, is shallow as a character. If anything Satsuki is the only one who has a good amount of depth to her. Even then, I got more feels and character development out of a single episode of Wake Up, Girls! than I did in almost an entire season of KlK. Simply put, KlK was mediocre at best.
Don't get me wrong, I like Trigger, I want to support them. We'll probably see gold from them eventually when their income is stable and when they can afford the big budgets a major player like Gainax can put behind their shows; but right now definitely isn't that time. Give it a year, maybe two.
