It's either going to go well or really, really badly for them.
edit: Omfg I didn't realise that the stage they had been moved to was the main stage. They're a support act for fucking IRON MAIDEN.
I remember when Parkway Drive performed in Sonisphere, and that was intense apparently. But Baby Metal (or something)????? AND SUPPORTING IRON MAIDEN ON TOP OF THAT!?
Honestly, it's clear that their owners are really trying to push and hype this group as much as possible, maybe to try and create better relations with overseas music industries or something, and make a shitload of cash. And they're using cute girls to do it. Being pushed up to the Apollo (main) stage seems really ridiculous and unrealistic, I wonder how much was paid to get them up there. I mean, you don't get to play the main stage without years in the industry as a group/band and without being influential in some way to music. I'm happy that they will get more well known and popular, but holy shit, this is extreme. BABYMETAL started in 2012 and have released only one album which was this year. Perfume who are one of the most famous J-pop artists only played their first show in the UK last year (which was awesome). Same with Kyary, she was out there for a while before she become popular worldwide and started doing overseas tours outside of Asia. The BABYMETAL thing is really a sophisticated form of child labour, the girls better get paid a good amount for doing this with the pressure of supporting a headliner like Iron Maiden in front of serious metalheads.
Also the London venue has been changed from the Electric Ballroom to The Forum (Parkway Drive have played there too in the past, and Architects), which is twice the capacity (2300 people).
"Due to exceptional demand the BABYMETAL show has been moved to The Forum"
And the tickets cost a tiny bit more than my Perfume and Kyary tickets cost...
