the original Dawn of War series is better then Dawn of War 2

Both are equally awesome.

It's just that a lot of people are used to the base building and massed armies destroying each other in the first series as opposed to the smaller scale battles in DoW II,

DoW I - Sending in hordes of troops and vehicles to overwhelm your enemy.

DoW II - Managing a smaller force, better management of resources, raiding the resources of your opponent, using cover to your advantage, flanking/out thinking your enemy.

after finally getting number 2 and playing it I will say that there is good parts. I like the leveling up of your squads and how you can give them equitment and every thing. They have another full storyline as well. The last two expansions for the first Dawn of War had almost no storyline. The addition of the Tyranids for the first time was also awesome. I guess I was just used to how the first one played and so I was initially disappointed by number 2.

Technically Winter Assault and Dark Crusade had a story to them.

WA - Sturnn won, Taldeer is being hunted down for interfering with Imperial operations, Gorgutz killed Crull sometime before or after the battle for the Titan and ran off.

DC - Thule won the crusade, end of story.

I know winter assualt had a story I loved it. Your missing the LAST expansion pack. I never thought you would slip up like this Sat. You forgot Soulstorm. I meant Dark Crusade and Soulstorm

Soulstorm was so damn horrible, I don't even want to speak of it.
