To someone with a love for cats, cats are sacred no matter what breed they are or length of time they've had it. Some people's affection for cats stems as far as seeing them as equals to humans. So it's understandably upsetting when one dies, more so if
you were the one who killed it, and in such a gruesome way.
Who cares.

The fact that it died like that shows that it wasn't very smart.
Survival of the fittest does apply here, but it is still sad for those concerned. You didn't kill it nor does the cat belong to you, and I'm guessing you're not a cat person. So of course you would have a detached opinion to the situation, but not everyone thinks the same.
