So nature lives rather close

Saw this on my way home, was only slightly creeped out. Probably because of what happened in Cranbrook.

That deer is going to rob your house and rape you mercilessly.

Anyway, that is really close. Is there a forest nearby?

Growing up, I went for a walk around a park near my place, and saw a stray deer wandering around. It charged me (or- at least- it looked like it), but then veered off and leapt clear over the fence surrounding the playground and made off.

Somewhat surprising, since I lived nary five minutes from downtown. The outskirts are a good 10 minutes out.

The closest bit of forest is about 4.1 Km from my house. It's just that usually if you wanna see deer you have to go into the upper part of the town before you see real nature. I live in the downtown area so it's mostly commercial and residential. No big open fields with lot's of trees just businesses and houses.

I was expecting to see some moose or other large animal and you did not disappoint me, thank you.

Good thing I didn't have any treats.

Only thing we got round here are foxes, badgers and a farmland around a rather small woodland.

That is one baller cat.
