I'll say it again for those who don't know shit about vocaloid. Vocaloid will never get an anime in the same way touhou will never receive an anime.
I dunno man. Touhou is an independent project of one person who releases his games almost exclusively through Comiket. Most of the manga and such are fan-works, there are a few notable ones made by ZUN though.
Meanwhile Vocaloid while started as an independent project, is something really huge in its own way. It's backed by the Yamaha Corporation, has its own concerts and video games (made by companies such as Sega), and Hatsune Miku was even in that one Toyota commercial (in America no less). I don't see why there wouldn't be an anime series.
This can explain why Touhou will never have an offical anime better than I can.

Would be difficult with vocaloid and finding appropriate voice actors...
Wouldn't the simplest solution be to use the VAs that provided the base voice for the vocaloid?
Those are two excellent points but how do we know if the base voice actors would still be willing to do it besides for the reason of money?

Why the fuck wouldn't you just use the voice synthesizer libraries? The amount of control the Vocaloid software gives you makes it perfectly feasible to have them talk rather than sing.
Have you ever heard a vocaloid talk? They sound horrible. Watch any MMD drama and find out for yourself. The only way a vocaloid can talk is if they have a voiceroid library.
There are currently two voiceroids, and four voiceroid+'s (just an improved version similar to the append system with vocaloid). If I recall correctly, there are one or two new voiceroids coming out. Yukari is the only vocaloid (vocaloid 03 to be exact) with a voiceroid library. Tohoku Zunko is a voiceroid that will receive a vocaloid 03 library in 2014.
