Enlisting was a terrible idea, without a damn good reason. Like, homeless or deeply indebted reason.
And, god help your secretariat ass in that MOS. Should have studied up and gotten a job where they actually value you.
Good luck, and don't fuck up. Screw the prospect of dying, it's more of a lottery than any kind of skill in this war...I mean "don't fuck up" as in don't get kicked out. Shit will end your life, and you will end up either driving taxis or flipping burgers. Ditch diggers require honourable discharges.
I plan on doing school while I'm in and most likely while I get out as well.
The only question is what I should study for. I'm potentially leaning towards and HR degree while in. I don't need a whole lot of school for it as I already have a business degree so I'll have a lot of the core classes covered already needing only to take mostly degree specific ones.
Which would be nice because I could garner a nice cushy government job if I wanted it once I was out that way.
I'm also considering something along the lines of an IT certificate and so on.
Yo, hit me up on the other side. I'd like to know where this future solider would be stationed at. If it's anything overseas, especially anywhere in Japan, let me know. I'll be stationed in Japan in about 6 months from now, so you should be finished with Boot and AIT by then.
Boot camp will be hell, but hey, it's an experience that you will never forget. Just make sure you toss the grenade over the wall when you get to that part of boot camp. Hearing storied from buddies in the Army that tell about people not throwing that thing over the wall and almost getting themselves and the instructor killed. No bueno. xD
Anywho, good luck and wishing for the best for you. See you on the flip side.
