Team Rose made them easy, since for some reason Sonic Team changed the difficulty of Special Stages for the first and only time so far in the game's history.

Mostly just less cheap spike ball placements. No extra dash spheres or anything.
It's mostly noticeable on the last stage.
Plus with Team Rose it's a lot easier to keep the keys until the end.
