I got it very cheap, and it's a waste not to play it when I have it. Surprisingly fun, aside from the random character dying.

Yup, congratz on finishing your Roro for the first time then. But then people usually play it over and over again to get all the endings.... Well, not something I'd do

The friendships points and events will lead you to characters endings, and there are other endings like pie shop, millionaires, etc, and the true ending, all have their own requirements to get.
Well about the plot.... What do you expect... It's more like a Harvest Moon game rather than RPG...
