It's actually not that hard. I just did bad on this test cause I forgot a lot of vocab. But JPN 1 basically teaches hiragana katakana, simple sentences, vocab, easy stuff that just need memorizing. You just got to study though but for me watching anime helped just cause I remember some of the words that we learn.

More or less. But I knew better not to rely on it so I just used it as only back up knowledge. Went into the class with a fresh mind.
