I'm a bit of a gearhead, so I have no problem grabbing an older car and working it up to something people are envious of.

Well, even with the newer cars, you damn near need a degree in Computer Engineering to fix them.
I prefer the mechanical aspect of it.
And about the oil, people seem to get that changed about 5k miles before they need to. Wasting oil. :P
