[font=verdana][color=green]I've always thought that, what you believe the definition of Insanity is, is actually Mental Illness/Disorder. That is as broad as you can get, as it covers everything. I always believed that Insanity is quite specific.

Okay, okay.
Yeah, I always thought Insanity = Mental Disorder. It might be merely how I was taught language. And in psychology classes, we were taught to avoid "borad" terminology. Well, maybe not strictly taught, it's just out teacher hated it.
But that's beside the point, isn't it?

[font=verdana][color=green]Going by that, that would mean that Depression = Mental Disorder = Insanity. It's when that is highlighted that I realise that Insanity isn't a broad term.

But it might be merely a matter of semantics.
The term insanity as it stands is rarely used in professional journals.
If they must, they just write "disorder", which seems more preferable catch-em-all term.
