If I could program, I'd make the Waifu Game a dating sim.

You're probably thinking of those old flash dating sims. That might be why it seems so familiar.

For what it's worth, Huniepop isn't that bad a game. The puzzle aspect isn't too bad, and some of the dialogue is pretty funny. It's a little shallow, but I mean I don't think you should expect much out of a cheap h-game.

Bejeweled and Tetris are literally the only games you ever need to play.
