Footie is a more violent sport by far. English soccer hooligans. A war fought by El Salvador and Honduras in 1969 was the fire starter by a game. Fuck three refs in the states where killed by pissed off fans and a father. Shit i kicked this one kid in the balls when we tried to jump kick the ball. It was fun.
Boxing is the tamer physical game. Less people died in the ring then on the hockey ring or baseball field. UFC is young... it will happen soon.
People don't understand that boxing is more than just fighting. While the Mayweather Pacquio fight wasn't interesting to casual fans, it was incredibly technical. Welterweight boxing isn't the kind of boxing where every punch matters like heavyweight is, and it's not as fast paced as Fly and Lightweight boxing, but it's some of the most technical boxing, While I think what Mayweather did in terms of playing a defensive game is a discredit to the sport because so many casual fans were watching, it's hard to argue with his record. The man has never lost a professional bout.
Essentially, what I'm trying to say is that boxing is more than just hitting the other dude in the head.
