I just looked on Google (a skill you definitely need), and it seems as though Skip Beat, as popular as it might have been with some fans, sold... rather mediocre. You need money and profits to keep a business going, honey. And with Japan's tastes as it is, it's why the shit you mentioned get more seasons. It sells like hot cakes.
Main point is, learn to research a little more, and you'll find that Skip Beat didn't make enough to warrant another season, and the chance of it happening decreases with every passing year as it becomes less and less relevant.
