You can actually piece together her background with the info from the Touhou wiki... I think. I mean one still needs to research the references and stuff... That's what I did anyway.

Her father's honor was apparently slighted when he was trying to complete one of Kaguya's Impossible Requests, and apparently he died during the ordeal.
Suffice to say, Mokou didn't take it too well.
