Touhou Game Club

i use a portion of the numpad, which is basically like tha arrow keys (the lowest row and the middle key)
Gamepad is for Touhou too unprecise... I tried a few timesand had to play focused all the way

I tried using those gamepads while playing a PC game and it sucks balls. It only works well on PS2 emulators, as far as I know. Well you could also bought an additional USB keyboard, one of my friends bought it just for playing games in his laptop.

Maybe I find one in my enviroment, thanks for the hint.
and for gamepads: I can play Beat em ups or Megaman-style games (like MegaMari or RosenKreuzStilette)only with gamepad.
are you using an USB-pad or a PS2/USB adapter?

It was an USB gamepad, never really used it since I don't play too much PS2 games on the emulator.

That would be a different story if I'm really into playing games like Winning Eleven, Street Fighter, Tekken, or even KillZone.

i used to have a PS2/USB plug, but lost it.
and i made good experiences with some games (Y's series, Ragnarok battle offline, Melty Blood, GG Isuka, Megamari, RKS)
so yeah... it all depends on the game i think...

I mostly prefer keyboards, and would only stick to gamepads when the game requires an analog stick function for me to be able to perform all the necessary moves.

Luckily TBS and RPG games doesn't really torture the controls. One issue on playing with emulator is the low FPS rate on the majority of games.

But you always could rely on Atlus and Square Enix's games, they've got far higher FPS counts than the others.

Most fighting games actually scratch the surface of using 10+ buttons. Fortunately they stick to making you press more than two button at a time instead of one completely different button that will probably not exist in any gamepad anytime soon.

I realized that most of the PC games and some of the console games makes use of more than 12 buttons. Making you got frustrated with the TL;DR configurations before even got a single moment of enjoyment from playing the game.

Well, Touhou is an exception. And that's the best thing about it, simple controls, entertaining yet challenging gameplay, and great music!

well, dont look at the controls panel unless you need them ^^



especially the music. some tracks still send shivers down my spine.
also, try the Viotex Instrumental versions.Some are really good.

^I got into Touhou because the music in Immaterial and Missing Power was just fucking jawdropping.

Zun makes badass music. let alone "Lullaby of a deserted Hell", "Solar sect of mystic wisdom" or "The Yokai mountain"
Only other composer capable of this epics is Ken Nakagawa

He also does the programming of the game, don't tell me he's the one who also does the art! If so, he'll be another modern day da Vinci lol.
