String that Connects Two Hearts [/h]
Eins, Zwei, Drei, and Vier. One, two, three, and four.
More than a year ago, Omoito Eins was out and translated. By the time, we only knew that one of Alice's dolls, or more precisely, her first doll, Hourai, suddenly became alive. She can think, she has conscience, she has and knows feeling, she has hatred, and she has love. Due to unknown reasons, it appears Hourai herself doesn't know how and why she suddenly became autonomous, but the only things she can remember well are her affection toward her creator, Alice Margatroid; and her distaste toward her creator's friend, Kirisame Marisa, who will become the first one to know Hourai's existence.
Who could ever expect that Hourai's distaste toward Marisa soon will become the main key for Hourai to achieve her purpose, that is to befriend Alice, not as a doll, but as a person. Marisa is more than glad to help Hourai to achieve it due to her interest toward Hourai's affection, but it's soon revealed that it's actually because both Hourai and Marisa are similar in being stubborn. As the story progresses, Hourai will also get another help from the Unmoving Libary of Scarlet Devil Mansion, Patchouli Knowledge, who wanted to know the reason behind suddenly-autonomous Hourai. While Hourai is trying her best to find out how to befriend Alice without revealing her existence, one other doll of Alice suddenly became autonomous as well, as if she followed Hourai's.
What's behind Hourai autonomous state ?
Whatever it is, there were eyes watching her. Those are the eyes from someone who've experienced a terrible life as a non-living thing, and the other from someone who seems to know the secret of Hourai. It's Omoito, a string that connects two hearts.
